Wirelessly posted (Verizon 9530)

Have you tried a battery pull?

Call YouMail support and ask them for the refresh code (it escapes me at the moment). Once sent to the server via SMS, the server will refresh, and send your device an update. This will remove the indicator if no new vmails are present.

If you actually got an voicemail (cassette tape) icon on your device it could be because your carrier's voicemail system has a call in there for you. Try calling the old voicemail access number from your handset and see if there's one in there...

Is the system suppose to support the voicemail icon on the bb's homepage? All I get is a txt msg, email, and a new voicemail thingy in the app?

It has to be enabled in your YouMail options. Login to YouMail from your Mac or PC, and click My Account in the top right, then click My Alerts from the left side menu.

Enable "Send me a TXT..." when I get a voicemail, and keep MWI up to date on my phone.

EDIT: Here is a major tip... The option I referenced above is not available when the phone model on your account is a Bold. Modify the Phone (My Account > My Phones) model to be a Curve, and the option will be available. All functions work properly on a Bold, when your YouMail is configured for a Curve.

Followed your advice and when I press "sync now," nothing happens. I have several new voice-mails but VyMail does not detect them.

SyncNow does not sync the MWI on the device, and the MWI is not part of VyMail. It is part of YouMail's process, and comes from their server(s).

There is an SMS code that you have to send the server to get it to refresh your MWI. Let me make a call and get the code.

Here is the code to have YouMail servers refresh the MWI on your device:

Send refresh in an SMS to 52894. Within a few seconds the YouMail servers will refresh your MWI.

Thanks Shaun. But before I saw your code here I noticed this link, so I downloaded the newst version and it worked. So I actually don't need the code. I can now listen to the messages without a problem. Great app!

I guess my Youmail must be all jammed up. Neither Vymail and nor the YOumail ap works for my bb. I sent the refresh and I get "connection error" on youmail. And nothing on Vymail. Kinda a pain in the but.

Check the vymail "About" screen. It will provide you with troubleshooting info. You can then try different connection types in the "Options" screen.

i did and got a msg about "insufficient coverage to contact server"

I looked at status and it says -96dBm. My display shows 3 bars. And I am in 1xev. I guess that must be ok as I get email, internet from my phone.

FYI, "1xev" (i.e., lowercase, as opposed to "1XEV") indicates no data coverage. YMMV, but often the solution is as simple launching the Manage Connections app, disabling the Mobile Network, waiting a few seconds to verify the network is OFF, and re-enabling the Mobile Network.

Did not know the difference. I was getting email and downloading files that night so I think i had the capital 1XEV. Still no downloads all day while I was out making calls.
