Default YouMail BB App - Can't upload address book

Please Login to Remove!

Not sure if this is the right section in this forum..and I did a search and couldn't find what I needed.

I just installed this yesterday I did all teh stuff on the site that you are supposed to do. Some things work like email notifications, greetings, etc. However I really installed it for the visual voicemail.

When you use the BB app, there is a menu to upload your contacts. Whenever I do that it it takes a second but then it lists the first 20 or so names that begin with 'A' and it says something like exists or already exists. At this point there is no visible sign of activity and I can't scroll down the list although I see the scroll arrows at the bottom right. My only menu option then is Close.

I would imagine it needs to upload the contacts to identify the callers so it can populate a list.

Anyone have this working correctly?

Moved it to Aftermarket Software, for ya.

The app really needs some work right now. YouMail Visual Voicemail Plus Not Worth The Space On Your BlackBerry | BlackBerryNews.com

i easily uploaded my entire address book to youmail via their website from my PC.

1. create a free yahoo! email account
2. plug your BB into your PC and open up desktop manager (i use v4.7)
3. can't remember exactly what it's named, but there's some sort of address book/e-mail account syncing feature. choose a one-way sync from your blackberry to your email address book.
4. log into your yahoo! account from your PC, and export your address book into a .csv file
5. import the .csv file onto youmail's website

worked great for me. easy way to have all of your contacts up in a matter of minutes

Do you have a yahoo plus account? Intrigured. I would like to do this, google sync likes reading updated contacts as new contacts very very annoying!

Is anyone aware of what method is he describing?

Nope, I just created a plain old Yahoo! account. I just needed a clean account to dump my BlackBerry address book to, so that's why I created a new Yahoo! account. Give it a try, it's pretty slick
