Default Epocrates install - 02-11-2009, 10:28 AM

I just thought I would share this with everyone since I couldn't really find this answer anywhere I looked.

To install Epocrates on the blackberry (most newer models) open the browser and goto (delete the cPanel®) get.epocrates.com. The download will begin almost immediately. Going through some of the pages during the install is fine and generally quick, especially if the user already has an account. It will ask for the username and password then toward the end it just needs to update. On all of the models I tried, the update failed the first time. I tried it on the 9530 which worked after a reboot. On the 8830, and the 8130, it wouldn't update until I cleared all of the cache and cookies from the Browser. Once I deleted all items from the Browser, it downloaded the updates fine.

I'm still having issues with the DX part of it on the 8830 and the 8130, but the RX is working fine. Once I get the DX working, I'll post more but I thought this might help if anyone else runs into a similar situation.

Just as a follow up to the install...to update Epocrates on an 8330, I had to change the server download option to be 'Automatic', instead of using the default setting. While it had the static address in the Server setting, it wouldn't connect to grab updates.
