Default Podcasts finally made workable on Bold - 02-13-2009, 12:29 PM

I love my Bold, and I've just started loving it a WHOLE lot more!

When I got my Bold back in October I was new to Blackberries having had an unsuccessful trial with an iPhone. Many aspects appealed to me(all the usual ones, email etc)but what especially excited me was the wonderful, and not often raved about, volume of the speakers.

This also frustrated me as I felt the Bold would be fantastic at playing Podcasts sans headphones and yet after trying several options(AudioBay,PodTrapper etc)I just couldn't get anything to work.

Then, just this week ,I updated to the new version of PodTrapper.I don't know what they did but it's now working BRILLIANTLY updating Podcasts OTA seamlessly! It even downloads plays video Podcasts. The search function leaves a bit to be desired and the UI is rather garish,BUT IT WORKS!

This ability is the missing piece of the jigsaw in making this device really rock for me.The Bold may not handle the net quite as elegantly as the iPhone ,but you can't stream grooves/Podcasts while surfing(or undertaking any number of tasks) on an iPhone like you can on the Bold.

'just wanted to share this experience as I've seen a few others in the forums trying to make this happen on a Bold.

You can try PodTrapper free for 30 days.

I find it well worth the cost, I would gladly have paid more for it.
