Ok I have a 8310 and the girlfriend has a windows mobile phone. I'm looking for a free I'm app that will work on both phones. And I've never used a I'm app do they come just as fast as a text message? I pay for the data plan on both phones I'm trying not to pay for a text package too. Thanks for the help

See if you can use Bee Jive

Also AOL, G-mail, Hot-Mail/MSN and Yahoo have clients which are good as long as you both have the same personal e-mail acct and it is one of the items mentioned above

I'd suggest BeeJive + MSN, too. Using the data plan and has a very intuitive UI.

Bee Jive is great. It is not free, but very functional. IMs are probably faster than texts, depending on the carrier.

Yes but again you have to have an e-mail acct with one of those providers which is free

Ok I've found a problem. Does windows mobile just suck that bad? She can send me a message using windows live messanger and I get it right away. I send a reply and she doesn't get it untill she sends me a message. She doesn't get her mail as quick as I do eaither. Would bee jive fix this or is it just windows mobile.

You could give it a try. I'm not using the Live version of the MSN messenger but the "normal", old version of it is causing many issues in our office...every day...and it's one of our main communication tools.

So give it a try and see if it's working, I'd bet on it.

BeeJive IM. I've had mine for a couple of years now and LOVE IT! A great way to go across different devices/IM services/etc.
