Default Excel, Word, MySql and File browser

Please Login to Remove!

I am new here and just got my first Black Berry 8330.

I know you can open excel and word files if they are in an email attachement
However, I would like to save them to my memory card and then be able to view them when I need too.

I think I would need a file browser to get to the files and them open them up?

I would also like to be able to connect to a MySQL server as well if possible.

What program do I need to buy?

Thank you very much.

Welcome to the forums.

If you upgrade your OS to 4.5, it includes the standard version of Docs to Go. This will allow to to save and edit word files. Also Sheets to go and Slides to go. For Excel and Powerpoint files. You can purchase the premium version if you need more features.

To upgrade look at the sticky at the top of the 8300 forum.

A file manager I have been using is Terra Mobility's File Manager Pro. It is still in beta but works very well. You can check it out by pointing your BB Browser to File Manager Pro - Download

I am not sure about the MySQL. I am sure someone will have a tip for you. Try searching the forums and you may find something.

Please don't double post your questions in the threads... confuses matters.
