neat app! i wish it didnt timeout on larger images. for now.. its just easier to add my tumblr uplaod email as a contact and send the email to that.. rather than changing file sizes and using your app. thats the only thing id like to see... and maybe Dashboard view.

glad to finally see a BB tumblr app!! keep up the great work.

if you ever need a newer version tested please feel free to PM me and let me know.

now there's an idea! - i think i can add support where the app uses the email transport for image uploads to make it more reliable... autoprime; i owe you a beer

ok - thanks to autoprime there's a new version that handles BIG images really smoothly, you need your mobile tumblr email address from tumblr.com/goodies

download at hippocamp.net/software - direct download: smallr.net/bbtumblr

im very happy with the current version now though. i'll no longer be using email to upload pictures ;)

one more question!

is it possible to add "send to tumblr" when choosing the send option after taking a picture? i normally take a pic > hit send to > email > send...

if im going to use the tumblr app.. i need to take a pic > exit out of pic > menu > view picture > send to tumblr

too many steps!!

yeah - i'd wanted to do that also, the ability to add a menu item to the camera preview was only introduced in 4.7 but i wanted to keep one build for all devices, however it now looks like i'll need a seperate build for storm anyway so will add that capability for devices with newer os versions.

(will add video uploads again now we now that the email transport works as well)

cheers!

don- 'use http' uses the same network code as text/chat/quote/link entries but doesn't work well with larger files so for images (and soon video) i've added the ability to use email to send the files as it's much more reliable, to do this though you need to enter your tumblr mobile email address which you can find on the tumblr.com/goodies page. if you ever get a failed upload you should set up the 'use email' method.

is a dashboard view possible or no? not even with your software... but in general? or is that something just not possible within a mobile blackberry app due to api restrictions etc?

there's no api to return your dashboard entries as xml - there are two mobile styled sites that are suitable though:

tumblr.com/iphone (looks great on android and iphone, looks shite on blackberry)

and

yourtumblrid.tumblr.com/mobile (basic but clean - but not your dashboard, just your own posts)

i'll either have these inside the app if i can get it working correctly, or if not i should be able to launch the native browser no problem (but bypassing the login screen by using the credentials already given in the app)

Is there a way to use the default BB text formatting in your text box? For example, double-space inserts a "period" and AutoText is applied during entry?

I was just drooling at the iPhone app and so happy to see this one for BB!

i'll add that to the list but it's a nice-to-have, reimplementing video upload at the moment, should also have a storm build ready by the end of next week.
