Curious to know if anyone else has experienced customer service issues when transferring a license to a new phone. I bought a transferable license for SyncJE about a year ago. Have upgraded phones twice during that time and, each time, the license transfer to my new device was a real pain in the butt. This latest experience has been especially bad. To transfer the license, their customer support has to "reset the license key" and I contacted them on Friday to ask that this be done. The woman I spoke with told me to send my payment confirmation email and then the key would be reset within 2 hours. I sent the payment confirmation while on the phone with her. Never heard back from anyone (you're supposed to get an email confirming that the key has been reset). I talked to someone today and apparently the customer service folks just didn't respond to the request. So now I have to wait until Monday.

Has anyone else had this experience? I love the product, but this is very disappointing!

I haven't had any issues transferring a SyncJE license to a new phone - I've done it a half dozen times in my organization without any issues. I just email them and tell them that I have to transfer a license to a new device, provide the license info, and ask they that they release it. I'm then free to register it to a new device. I think they also have a mechanism to let you release licenses, but I don't use it.

All that said, I have not been able to get the SyncJE client to work reliably with the 8350i. We use FirstClass in our organization and it randomly deletes events, moves events, etc. It worked pretty well with the 7100i, but not with the 8350i. Nexthaus has not been very responsive to the problem.

Thanks, I guess it's just a matter of always letting them know ahead of time when I want to transfer a license. What frustrates me is that this is different from what they told me when I bought the license - the rep told me that, to transfer it to another device, all I had to do was enter my user name and license key and it would be automatically transfered. Very disappointing. It's a great service, but I just wish they would not make such a big deal when trying to transfer it.

Ask them about their license management system - it's a web site where you can release and assign licenses you own.
