As the title states, I'm looking for a free 3rd party app that has Facebook chat capabilities. I've already got eBuddy, but it's kinda buggy so I was hoping for something better. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I'm thinking palringo but I haven't gotten it to work for my Curve. I heard that you have to also install the desktop edition and add the service there before seeing it on your mobile. I also heard that recently, 3rd party FB chat access has stopped working because of security concerns and other changes that facebook is performing on it. I also read somewhere the Beejive's Jivetalk has one in the works. Let us know what works and what doesn't.

I've been trying Palringo as well but keep getting an "Uncaught Exception" error when I try to open it. I'm on vacation now, but when I'm home at my PC I will try loading it on that way and see what happens. Thanks!

Any other suggestions out there?

The developers for palringo are working on it. Get the older version which works at getjar.com (wap.getjar.com)

I've got the older version, but the older version doesn't seem to support Facebook chat (which is really what I'm after). Will the newer version support it?

He isn't happy with eBuddy. From what I hear, BeeJive is working on integrating the Facebook chat into their client. No eta that I'm aware of.

Facebook chat from BeeJive will be available more sooner than later. I'm running it now and it looks good.
