Default Google Voice dialer - 03-18-2009, 07:25 PM

We have received overwhelming feedback from users who are using CardKaller to make Google Voice calls.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Download and install CardKaller (from CardKaller .com)
2. Go to Add a card
3. Name the card
4. Access number: Your Google Voice Number
5. Number of pauses: 4
6. Card number: 2
7. Number of pauses: 2
8. Termination characters: #

That’s it. Then when you want to make a Google Voice call, just pick anyone from your address book and choose CardKaller Call.

NOTE: This is still a beta product. We are addressing navigation issues with 8900 Curve, Bold and Storm devices and should have a new build up soon. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I will try the beta. How will we get the free code once we give feedback?

We have not updated the build since March 10th but have managed to get the OTA install working.

installed, with my 2 GV accounts. I like it, but 1) you should add options to the "empty menu", allow it to not start automatically, and the 1 option I want most: allow it to call a different #, then connect it to GVoice, so I can use a diff phone if I wanted as opposed to the BBerry

I like the interface though

Edit: Id prefer the card selection when dialing to be on the same screen as the phone # entry or before it. I think that would make a better user experience in case they have 2+ cards and want to be sure it uses the right one

Just downloaded OTA on my Bold. I like the concept, but the UI is not clear or friendly on it. I will keep testing and see how it works out.

The application worked great when I entered in the number I wanted to dial manually (e.g. number entered in through the Card Kaller App). However, when I tried to access my address book and make the call (I selected contacted, pressed Blackberry Button, then selected CardKaller call) it dialed my Google Voice number, but then proceeded to input a long string of numbers. At the end of it, I ended up in a menu that asked me to change my personalized greeting voicemail.

I am running a Sprint 8330 Curve with 4.5.0.97

All in all, it is great I can use this to dial out, but it would be even greater if it could provide full functionality with the address book.

Edit:
It appears to work when I call a contact through my call log. The error I described occurs as I selected a contact through my Address Book. I was not able to duplicate this dialing error when I tried to call through the Address Book a second time.

Will this be sold for a subscription fee or a one time application fee? Please keep posted, I think this app has a lot of potential!
