Default IM+ Messenger - now Facebook Chat is supported - 03-27-2009, 04:14 AM

SHAPE Services announced the support for Facebook chat and avatars in its best selling IM+ All-in-One Messenger for BlackBerry.

Now Facebook users are able to exchange text instant messages with smileys, send files, log in into multiple accounts simultaneously and preview avatar images of their buddies in contact list. IM+ 7.0 supports eight instant messaging services: AIM/iChat, MSN/Windows Live, Yahoo!, MySpaceIM, Jabber, ICQ, GoogleTalk and Facebook. IM+ works on all BlackBerry smartphones, and has a special version for touch-screen BlackBerry Storm.

I think this is the best IM app, and I've used them all. But why does it not integrate with the BB sound profiles?

I think BeeJiveIM is better and it is half the price. The interface looks better, it supports all of the same messaging services, and it does integrate with the blackberry profile sounds. They just implemented Facebook IM too and it works great.

I don't know, I thought it was an easy decision based on the cost difference alone. All the other better features were just a bonus.

Sorry about that, forgot to mention the FB feature is still in beta testing. They just opened up the beta to the public last week but I've been testing it for a month now and it's working marvelously.
