New GreenFinder service for Rogers Wireless coming soon -
03-30-2009, 11:10 AM
GreenFinder helps golfers answer the always asked question of “How far is it?”. The software uses GPS technology to display the distance to the front, center and back of the green along with hazards on the fairway.
GreenFinder allows golfers who already have an investment in a GPS enabled BlackBerry smartphone to better enjoy a round of golf and increase the speed of play. The software uses the GPS technology built into the latest versions of the BlackBerry Bold, 8800, Curve and Pearl.
Users who have already invested in a device, for e‐mail, phone and calendar, can now use the same device to display course distance data to enhance the golf experience. Why pay $300+ for another device that you need to remember to charge, when you already have a GPS enabled device?
Available Courses
GreenFinder currently has over 10,000 courses, and are adding over 150 new courses every week. If you donʹt find the course you are looking for, you can always request it or mark it yourself using GreenFinder. If you mark a course using GreenFinder, they will review, approve and promote it to the production system for everyone to use (usually within 2 business days).
GPS distance
Uses the built‐in GPS to display the distance to the front, center, back of greens and hazards along the fairway.
Speaks the distance
Speaks the distance to the center of the green, so you donʹt even need to look at the screen.
Shot Length
Pressing one button records where you took a shot and allows GreenFinder to display your shot length.
Real-time course downloads
Downloads courses in real‐time ‐ when you need them. No need to pre‐load the courses you want to play, and no limit on the number of courses you can download.
Knows where you are
Using GPS, the software knows where you are and which course you are playing.
Directions to the course
Because the software knows where you are and where the course is, it can display directions on how to get to the course
