Default Berry Weather - 03-31-2009, 05:07 PM

IMHO the best weather program out there. Great visuals, small footprint, multiple locations, FAST, multiple views. It is not free but most good things are not. There is a free 3 day trial

**Price is now $10.00usd**

$10 usd? How does one even buy a used app? *audience laughs*

But in all seriousness I was impressed. It looks nice, plays nice and works nice. That's all that matters to me when it comes to apps. Head on over to crackberry and post a comment for the drawing of 50 free copies of berryweather.

Default Great Weather App - 03-31-2009, 10:02 PM

I too am looking for every chance to save money or get a good free app, but you know, lets give credit where credit is due. I for one don't mind providing a little support to a company giving the current economy a run for it. This weather app is bar none the best I have seen on my Bold. It works great, has great features and so far has been quite accurate. I for one don't mind spending a few bucks here or there when I come across a great app and this one is definitely one of them. Bought it this evening. Nice job Bellshare!

This is finally the first weather app for my blackberry that gives my wife's iphone a run for the money...!

Cheers

I got my free trial earlier today, and bought the activation code within a couple hours. It's really nice on the eyes, and I really love the fact that I can put my own wallpaper behind it.

Peace,

I use YWeather! which is free and have been really happy with it. You can also get weather through Viigo. However, the best and most accurate way to get weather forecasts (IMO) is to just bookmark the web page for your location in Weather.gov. With the 3G speed it's really fast and easy to access.

Downloaded the trial and gladly paid for an activation code a few hours later. I highly recommend this weather app...

The only thing at the moment which it does not do is radar and I would not be surprised to see that happen in an update later down the road. Also has alerts for weather situations which has been working flawless for me the last two days with the weather in my area.

I currently use WeatherEye which is a free app and I am very happy with it, only issue I have is that you can only setup 1 city.

I will try out Berry Weather, is there an OTA download

I love WeatherEye, but I know some people on the board can't use it because it only covers certain metropolitan areas.

Why would I use this over BBWeather? I can put in ZIP codes and make multiple profiles for diff cities. Also, it provides both current conditions and up to 10 day forcasts
OTA Link : http://www.tateu.net/software/bb.php?f=BBWeather

Edit: Free too. Screw $10 apps when there's a great free alternative with little to no memory footprint

I'm not trying to troll here.. I'm just a little disappointed by RIM's offering (their weather push is updated twice a day and sucks) and the price of some of these alternatives.

BBWeather is free, as is WeatherEye. Why not try one of those?

With the technology behind the hardware.. There should be no reason why both cannot coexist on a single package. Others have managed to do so.

I love WeatherEye, but their closest city to me in the midwest is 45 miles away. They are very limited on US cities so far.

I bought BerryWeather and love it. Everything is spot on.

I agree that it is a bit overpriced, but I still am glad I purchased it.

I'm noticing something else however. I am running 1.0.34, and its memory leaking and killing my battery like crazy.

Is anyone else noticing this??

I purchased BerryWeather after a two hour trial. I was looking for just this sort of application. I have NOT noticed any memory leak or battery drain while it's been installed on my Bold.

I'm trying to narrow it down now. I dont use many programs that stay running in the background. It could be the Beta of BeeJive.

one thing I didnt like about this app is that the developer never responds to sent emails thru application. I wonder how good support will be/updates.

The developer was very good in supporting this during the beta testing, but they were active on Pinstack not here. Get the latest version (1.0.34) as there were some late bug fixes after the initial release.
