This happened to me multiple times last night. I uninstall the BB App World application, then reinstalled. It is working now.

Well all I get is an error - "There was a problem reading data from the server and App World must exit. Error type: 100002". That's via EDGE or WiFi. On T-Mobile and a BES with browsing via BES restricted.

I will "third" this comment. Deleted the file. Everything is still being pushed to my handheld via the BES and AppWorld now works fine.

I was not able to download version 1.0.0.26, was giving "requirement does not meet" error. Today I was able to download version 1.0.0.27 but not able to start the programme. When I try to start it it gives the following error:
"Error starting nrt_rim_bb_appworld;Module 'net_rim_bb_appworld' does not match codfile timestamp of sibling module "net_rim_bb_appworld-7"
What is this?

I tried to buy my first app tonight (Forward with Edit). Went to the Paypal payment page, and the order timed out. Sent an email to the developer and he said it wasnt on his end.
I hope this isnt a sign to come. I was really looking forward to using it. Hope this was an anomoly.

I downloaded right away yesterday and have been playing around with it. Downloaded Vlingo to try and didn't like it. It didn't do a very good job recognizing my voice. LOTS of mistakes. Guess I need to take speech class.
Downloaded Shazam for the free trial period. I really like that. My girlfriend has an LG Voyager and we are always playing around with VCAST Song ID just for fun. It is a cool app. I just wish I would stay free.
No issues with the App world itself. Downloaded great. Works great. Only thing I would say is that the icon pics downloaded pretty slowly, but that could be from traffic or just a slow day for data in general.

I am having a problem now moving the "icon" for the app. After using the app, the only way for me to move the icon is to pull the battery. Then I can get the BB button to work until I launch the app again. Anybody else notice this? Thoughts?

New Blackberry Apps Store - LOVE IT! -
04-03-2009, 11:32 AM
I just had to throw a shout out for the new blackberry apps store. About damn time!!! I pickedup the following apps and think that so far they are great:
GPS Tracker - tracks your phone in case you lose it
Level - as the name implies...it is a level for checking how flat a surface is
Where - awesome if you are on the road and looking for a place to eat or a starbucks or gas or whatever
Wall Street Journal - great news
Trapster - speed trap finder when you are on the road...works over bluetooth
(NOTE** - one downside here is that if you are listening to music, it stops the player in order to tell you about the speed trap)
Slacker - online radio like Pandora or Link.fm or any of those music stations that you define
Calorie Counter - great way to figure out calories...doesn't count your day for you, but searches for the calories.
Anyway...these were all free with the exception of one of them which was $2.99.
Enjoy!

I consistently recieve the error "failed to transmit". I'm on the latest OS .199 on a BB 8900 - TMO USA with BES. I've deleted and reinstalled several times, no luck. Any ideas?

I had the same exactly problem!!!
Unable to move the icon, I was praying it wasn't gonna be stuck with that.
Luckily a restart or battery pull and I was able to move it. Strange?
I'm on the 8900 though.

sjlsystem - Have you removed this file from your service books? If you are on a BES, it appears this "book" needs removed before you can connect. I can attest that I am still receiving e-mail, contact and calendar updates,, etc. after removing and I am now able to access AppWorld.

Thanks a bunch! that worked. FYI this is what this service book does "Desktop [IPPP] or BlackBerry [IPPP]* Contains information that is required to use and browse the Internet using the BlackBerry® Mobile Data System (BlackBerry MDS). ". Since I don't use the Blackberry MDS Browser in BES, this is no problem for me......

I had exact same problem on 8900, icon wouldn't move. Soooo.... I just moved the other icons around it, the AppWorld icon just follows suit. It's a rigged-solution, but it works. I'm sure bug will be resolved.
Other than that little issue, I've been downloading like a maniac! Free ones, pay ones, love it! Had a little trouble connecting to paypal to pay for 1 app, but it resoved itself quickly, downloaded fine. All set. No other issues.
I haven't tried to download or browse on pure Edge yet though. Only used it on Wifi at home and at work. May be a difference. Edge has been wicked slow last few weeks on TMO USA here in South Florida.

The App World works great for me. Bummed they pulled the Facebook 1.5 app from it though. When are we going to get more apps? I'm way bummed also on the fact that half the apps are paid apps. :\

I managed to install it here in France the day after launch. On launch day itself, I got the 'not supported' page. Downloaded a couple of free apps hassle-free. Haven't yet paid for an app, so not sure if it'll work with Frenchie PayPal.

I am in Middle East, Carrier Etisalat. i just wanted to check if its will be installed on Etisalat.
i have downloaded the worldap, its works ok even i was able to connect to my paypal account, but when i try to download and install even free application. its gives error that worldap cant connect. Try later.
so i think no change that its will work on Etisalat for now.

So I have downloaded the app world and it seems to have a decent amount of apps and they seem to be updated everyday but I am kinda confused about the apps they are offering. Now I have a BlackBerry Bold and it runs great and I have a friend who has an older curve. Now when I dl the app store the featured apps were different for me then for him. Not only that but he has different apps in his store then I have in mine. For example he has the Aim app as well as the ICQ app and even when I search for them on my phone i cannot find it in the app world at all.
So my question is whether or not this is normal and other people are finding the app world to be doing the same weird thing.

How do you update app world? Didn't find any option in the app itself...do you actually have to go through reloading it via USB cable from the RIM site?

One thing I really think they need to add is a new apps this week category, as I dont want to seach each category to look for what is new today/this week.
NOW: 9550/Verizon
THEN: 9530, 8330, 8830, 8300, 8100, 8700, 7100t, 7230, Kyocera 7135 & 6035

This app, while a great addition, is a memory hog. I have a lot of apps and have about 7MB on my device. It literaly chews up the total amount after I browse a couple of categories of apps.
Could it be smarter about using the device memory? 25 items at a time like the iphone and reuse the memory for every 25 items possibly?
I wish I have gigs of device memory and not worry about space.
So why do BBs not have that much memory to begin with?
