Default Magmic Sudoku Help - 11-03-2005, 04:43 PM

I purchased Magmic's Sudoku, but I have not been able to use the online functionality.
I always get "Connection Error" when I try to login.

Here's my config:
-7290
-OS 4.0.0.219
-Rogers
-BES

Troubleshooting:
-In game setup, I have tried BES and No BES
-I have THK2, and online works for it when I choose No BES
-I have tried Options-->Firewall-->Reset
-I have tried manually entering APN under Options--TCP, but the settings don't seem to stay there very long

Please help!

Are you able to start a new game? I can't even get that far...

Is it possible your BES admin is blocking this? I am not sure what port it uses, but it may be blocked at the firewall connecting the BES to the internet.

cd.

Yes, I can play the "offline" games.

I am on the Default IT Policy, and the BES Admin says they haven't made any changes to it. I suppose it is possible that our Firewall is blocking the port, but then why does THK2 work (only Magmic can answer that), and why won't Sudoku work when I choose "No BES" and select my carrier?

EDIT: With THK2, I have to Select NO BES. If I try it with BES, I get an error: "The application has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy."

I am certainly disappointed with Magmic's support. I originally emailed them on this issue before starting this thread, and I have hardly received a response from them outside of the usual preliminary "make sure the user isn't doing anything wrong" questions.

i had trouble with the original version, but i re-downloaded it, and its apparently the 1.01 version, and that seems to work...

as far as doing the sudoku, i must be the only person that finds them kinda irritating, in a " i'm not smart enough" way
