| Shazam Setup won't work....anyone have any luck with it? Please Login to Remove! I downloaded Shazam 2.0.0.0 from the App Store yesterday - when I launch it, I'm prompted to run Setup. When I do so, it runs for awhile then I get an error 1302 "Sorry. Shazam can't connect to the internet . . ." message.
I'm running an 8330, 4.5.0.77 on Verizon. I've tried the battery pull but get the same error.
Has anyone else encountered this?
Has anyone successfully installed it?
Thanks. | | Offline

| Sorry for the double post - I posted first in the Aftermarket section and got no response so I posted in the 8330 section later. What should I have done? Also - since you're running the same phone, OS, and carrier - can you tell me if you've tried loading it? That would be helpful. | | Offline

| Any posts about 3rd party apps go here. I have not tried Shazam. There are some threads about it here in this section, you might read them and see if anyone else has mentioned problems on the 8330. | | Offline

| Yes, all you need to do is go into the security settings for this application under "Options" and set them all to "Allow". | | Offline

Tried this in both Wifi and EDGE. Reinstalled once as well. | | Offline

| Well... I was just about to post about the application failing to get past the welcome screen when I found your comment about enterprise activation... damn! This is a version 2.0 application? Hogwash...

| The version that was first available from App World worked for me on BES with no problems. After an OS upgrade Shazam forced me to upgrade to version 2.0.7, and I had a lot of trouble getting this to work. I got it to the point where "Tag Now" worked, but most of the other menu options gave me a popup saying "Browser is disabled by IT Policy".
2.0.8 is now available on App World, so I decided to give that a try. When I first ran it, it came up with a menu giving me two options - "Upgrade Now" and "Upgrade Later". Selecting "Upgrade Later" just kept taking me back to the same menu, so I tried "Upgrade Now" instead. This downloaded a new version (which still claims to be 2.0.8), but it now gets past the "Setup" screen and takes me to a screen saying that I have the complimentary version of Shazam. There are two menu options on this screen ("View Terms of Use" and "Pay Now"), but both of these take me to the "Browser is disabled by IT Policy" message. However, I can click the menu key to bring up a menu that has all of the normal Shazam options. The "Tag Now" option in this menu works properly for me. | | Offline

| Just checked AppWorld again, and it still shows 2.0.0.0 for me. What's up with AppWorld showing different versions of applications for different people. Doesn't leave me with a lot of confidence in AppWorld's reliability.
Nevertheless, downloaded again, and tried selecting the Upgrade Now button, and Shazam just quits. Ungh... and Shazam still hasn't responded to my e-mail.
Chimpooooo, where did you get that link?

| Something to keep in mind Ifonline.
If I understand correctly...the app store provides results/apps based upon your device. You won't see versions that are incompatible with your device.
The above poster has an 8310(and others 83xx & 8900) and you have a 9000.
I'm also still on 2.0 (bold as well)

| Interesting... I finally got an e-mail from Shazam, and they indicated that I need to select "Upgrade Now" and Shazam should quit and launch the browser. It didn't (Shazam quit, but browser didn't launch). I started the browser manually, and the Shazam page was loading. I was presented with the option to download 2.0.8, which I did and installed. Now Shazam works on my Bold without problems.
So I ask again, what's up with AppWorld? If 2.0.8 works on the Bold, why is 2.0.0 the version available to me on AppWorld?

| hmmm weird. I don't even have an upgrade now. When I click check for upgrade it asks me to pay. Does 2.08 have anything different in it?
One thing I do wish was you could email all your tags at once. It sucks that the app doesn't send you to the amazon mobile store...despite running from a handheld.
