Can you define "pretty much" bricked?

Bricked is like pregnant... either it is or it isn't.

My call logs were gone, icons were missing, I had to resend service books for my BIS accounts, and then trying to connect to the internet i got a 523 error screen

That is not bricked, but it does sound like an issue with memory.

This is really a good case of we can help you IF you help us.

Icons were missing? All , some or what? Which ones, your messaging icons?

It all sounds like you needed service books, and missing call logs could be a memory issue (highly unlikely on the 8900) or that for some reason those did not restore properly to the device. You can restore those from your backup.

The 523 error is an Application Error and sometimes related to a a third party theme on the device.

Has anyone else exprienced this bug?

After sending a message from the message list, the trackball doesn't respond... until you press another key. In other words, send a message (from the message list) and then you can't use the trackball until you hit the spacebar or some other key.

I had a similar thing happen to my phone. I had upgraded to .206 earlier in the day, and then when I installed the new facebook app my browser and messages apps were wonky. Specifically, I couldn't start the browser by pushing 'b' from the home screen nor messages with 'm'. The icons were also missing. However, the functions were still there as I could start them from within the Intelliberry app I was trying out. When I did get the browser open, I only had WAP and Hotspot, not the internet browser.

Oh, and as the first poster said, the reboot process was messed up as well. After the reboot it would hang at the Rogers screen. After using the power button to turn on and off a couple of times I could get into using the phone.

I was generally unhappy with .206 anyways, so I wiped my phone and installed .199 and then the new facebook app. Seems okay now.

Probably because Facebook 1.5 creates a new calendar called "Facebook". You should check to see that it is not set as your default calendar. The "today" theme shows entries from the default calendar I believe.

When did this F.B. updated version arrive? I got the latest version from the BB app page a few weeks ago when I got my replacement Storm. I checked on this F.B. app for the latest version and it says that I currently have the latest version. I can't find a "about" section on my current F.B. app to see what version I have. Is the latest version 1.5.0.31?
