Default How to disable contact pic syncing with Facebook app - 04-26-2009, 08:33 AM

I downloaded the latest edition of the Facebook for Blackberry app on Friday, and I do like it for the most part, but I want to disable the autosyncing that occurs where people's FB profile pic is assigned to the bb contacts. They even show up in my Outlook! I agree it's a nifty feature, but I would like the ability to disable it, at least for certain people :p

In your facebook app ON the BB > options > Disable the "BlackBerry Contacts application".

Wirelessly posted (Bold 9000)

How could you not see that in the options?

Already did that, no change. I'm logged into my Outlook account now, and all of my contacts that have a FB profile have a picture on them still. Same thing on my BB

re-enable.
then go to the facebook app - friends list, and for each contact connected to a BB contact, click menu-disconnect from BB contact.
this should remove that info (such as the pics). then turn off the option and it wont do it.

I was afraid someone would say to do this...I have well over 100 contacts that I would have to go through...sigh

I would say its the only way to get rid of the info that it synced with facebook.
unless you want to go through the 100 contacts to remove the pics.

Under options, you could disable the update existing photos in Bb contacts option and then refresh the contacts, and it may take them away again.

Not a very productive post... Try to do better next time..

Or just don't bother at all.
