Default TweetGenius Bold/8900 - 05-05-2009, 05:24 PM

Quote:
TweetGenius was created out of necessity. Simply put, no BlackBerry Twitter application was capable of quenching our thirst. We decided to make TweetGenius for the BlackBerry community because we're BlackBerry-lovers who know what other BlackBerry-lovers want in an app.

We integrated a revolutionary UI with fantastic user-orientated features like the ability to compose a new tweet, start a new search, and view tracked items from any screen in the application. Shortcuts? Please. Basically every key on the keyboard is a shortcut! What about sending pictures and GPS location? Done and done.

Click on through to see what TweetGenius offers and how it differs from the competition. We promise you'll be impressed.
Price: Sale $4.99 / Regular $9.99 (I'm not seeing any trial version)
TweetGenius. Your BlackBerry Twitter life made easier.

Does this work on non-Bold/8900 models? (prior to 4.6?)

For the first time I feel the future might hold something different for me. It's possible I'm fooling myself but I'm willing to take the risk.

TweetGenius for BlackBerry review

Not yet according the this review. I still don't get twitter, maybe I'm too old or just need friends.

no trial = fail

seriously, do you buy shoes without trying them on first? This goes with all other app's that dont have a trial period.

I really want to like the application, but on my Curve 8900 it is a bit sluggish. When I watch the video here: TweetGenius for BlackBerry: it’s war on the Twitter streets : Boy Genius Report

it seems as though the Bold has smooth scrolling and everything. But the scrolling is sluggish on my 8900. Transition screens are somewhat snappy, but sometimes replying to messages is sluggish too.

The only thing I get from that video is that BGR follows DacyJ.

This is a great app, but it only seems to update when I am on WiFi. Does anyone else have this problem?

Actually, DacyJ is @replying to BoyGenius. In an earlier video, which has been removed, you could see BG responding to both me and DacyJ. LOL

I've been using this now for a couple months and it's been a great app, it checks for updates and let's you know there's a new one out and then directs you to download. I've only had 1 issue with it a few beta's back and since then, no issues at all.

......oh wait read a little futher:

Please note: at the moment, TweetGenius requires use of either a TCP or BES connection. If you don't have your device activated on a BES server, TweetGenius will try and auto-configure itself to use direct TCP. If it can't, you'll have to manually enter the correct TCP APN and possibly username and password for your carrier.

Can anyone help me with a TCP APN manual connection????

So long as your APN settings are correct, you should have no issues connecting. It is how I am running it at the moment.

I have it set to work on BIS w/o Issue.

To force a manual update hit "Q". Its way awesome! Huge memory foot print though(1 meg download) but still great if you ask me.

Been testing it for a month or so. Its just plain great. And for $5 you can't beat the price.

8900/storm release are suppose to be due in the next week or so (if not out already).

Love the 9000!! It's everything I wanted (minus enough ON BOARD memory)!!

Guess I do. The local flea markets here have NEW shoes for $5 - $10. (Of course they are probably knock-offs) I have waisted too much money on nickle and dime programs that after paying for, realize it isn't what I want. So No free trial, no buy!!
