Received your reply and installed the software.

How would you like bug reports submitted? I haven't gotten to the Yahoo SMS feature yet, but I've found a few other problems already, as well as a few suggestions.

I'll assume you want it sent to the same support e-mail address unless I hear otherwise.

Yeah, I saw that and reported it, along with the workaround. Put a '1' before the phone number, then the SMS will go through. Replies don't seem to work, though.

I've found that when I have LED notification turned on, the red LED comes on and stays on (no blinking) immediately I start to send/receive IM messages. It doesn't go off even when I exit IM+ (I have to reboot)! Before I note it down as a bug, has anyone else experienced this, or can they suggest any explanation?

Thanks for the heads-up. Guess that's one for the bug report.

Just received a response to my mail from tech support. Apparently the latest version (3.1) has fixed the LED problem. They're still quoting the '1' prefix as a solution to SMS problems.

I've tried repeatedly to use the SMS feature, using several different formats and prefixing numbers with a '1', but it doesn't work. Maybe it's because I'm sending to UK numbers. On that score, it doesn't seem possible to enter a number in international format (can't type the '+' sign in the phone number field), which you certainly can when using the Yahoo service from a PC.

Okay, so tech support have now informed me that "this [SMS] service will work only for USA". Makes you wonder why they accepted me onto the beta test when I clearly stated I was a customer with Vodafone UK. Oh well.

Hm. I suppose if nothing else, it gave me an excuse to load up IM+ and compare it with my trusty Verichat.

I just did the update to 3.1 - My first try with the SMS failed and got the same error as Dawg that it couldnt validate the phone number. I realized I forgot the area code and went thru OK afterward and no problem. 1XXXXXXXXXX
