Default Will someone write an app backup app already?! - 06-07-2009, 02:33 PM

Hi
I am sure I can't be the only one, whose Blackberry gets nuked every once in a while? Especially the new incarnations (8900, etc..) with 256mb of RAM. Gives you a LOT of room for apps, and there is for sure more chance of apps not getting along.

Anyway, since my 8900 has nuked twice this year, I now backup my apps manually every time I add or change a few new apps, and, neatly store it on my SD card, in case I am not at my office computer when it happens. Thankfully, subscribing to a BES, I never have to worry about backing up anything else - the BES takes care of all that (except any e-mails I haven't backed up using DM) ONe of the real pains, is to have to refind, and reinstall all your apps after needing a total restore - I have about 50 apps (and i use them all!)

But, why can't somebody write an app that backs up all the .cod apps, and neatly places it on the SD card automatically?

Again, am I the only one?

Thanks,

Jeff

One of the users here, JKoder, is creating an app he calls an OnBoardBackup where you don't even need a computer to backup your BB. He says it takes all your files and puts it on the SD card for you anywhere on the go.

Be sure to look for it.

Backing up to the SD card in my Blackberry would be perfect.
