Default Data plan, cool apps, battery life, aplication memory...

Please Login to Remove!

Yesterday, I finally got Data Plan for my Bold...too happy because there's so many apps to choose from. Only downside is battery life and application memory. So anyways, which apps would you guys prefer?

Apps that I like, and have, are:

1) Viigo
2) Google Mobile App (love my Google Maps)
3) ESPN
4) Pandora
5) WorldMate Live
6) Radio Companion

What other apps would you prefer, with only like 15 MB of application memory left on my Bold (im running 4.6.167)

I'd like to have Myspace and Facebook apps but I jus can NOT get them to work. Any suggestions???...

Check the 9000 section here, there are other 'favorite apps" threads.

You can't get Facebook to work? Really? Any details/

I can download both Facebook and Myspace but when I go to "downloads" there's nothing there. But when I go to my "applications" both Facebook and Myspace show up.

I would recommend upgrading your OS for better memory and battery performance. Also downloads would be in the download folder, so check there. I have the latest .282 OS and facebook 1.6 and they work great. Glad you're enjoying your device. You pretty much have the best apps so far listed and the other posters have also added a few great ones.

You could also get the IM apps, GoogleTalk, Yahoo! Messenger and WLM. Bolt for browser.

Wirelessly posted

You should check in Options|Applications if the facebook/myspace apps are listed there delete them, pull the battery and then try installing them again.

Wirelessly posted (Inzomniakz)

I would agree, ditching the 4.6.167 OS and go for something like .266 nice and stable.

Also think about your power management I have mine set to auto power off at midnight and turn itself back on at 6am, as this is only really a standby mode I also use QuickPull to do a scheduled soft reset at 6:15 .....then unfortunately the alarm goes off for work!! :(

AOL IM
poynt
Google Maps
Facebook
CoinToss

*Although it's on the phone at default, I also love AT&Ts MEdia NET. They have some great videos with the news and events of the day. A good way to pass a train ride, flight or car ride.

Oh, and I am a fan of the .282 (which I started running yesterday.) Everything worked fine after the switch. No troubleshooting involved. More application memory!!!

I haven't tried 266, but 282 is very good. No problems at all. Check the top of the forum for the download and instructions.

The .266 build was excellent on my 9000. However the .282 does allow the switch from 3G/2G to just 2G wich will prolong your daily battery life. For me, that's about the only real difference. Both are solid builds I've been running the .282 for four days without a single problem.

Good luck!
