I just saw that Verizon put a new app in my download folder. I installed it and it runs fine. But when I hit "ID New Song" it just "Listens" forever. It never id's anything. I was hoping this would be a cool app especially since it's sponsored by Verizon. But it seems to be just a gimmick.

Yes it does works great. Make sure Permissions are all set to Allow. Also make sure your v-cast music player is up to date. I all so had to delete my V-cast music and reinstall and it fixed the Song ID. Good Luck

are these applications included in our data plans, or are they like vmail and vz navigator where we have to pay?

It works great for me. Is it possible you have the volume too low and it can't "hear" the music?

If it doesnt work you may have to set the permissons for the vcast song id application to allow. To change the settings go to Options>Security Options>Application Permissions>Song id and than just set everything to Allow. Hope this helps. It did for me.
