Default Opera Mini problem.. - 09-01-2009, 04:33 PM

Just downloaded Opera Mini and it is working great. The only annoying thig is every time I want to type in a field its brings me out of the website and into a blank "Enter text (5524)" screen? I can still type what I want but it takes a fews extra keystokes. Anyway to avoid this?

Thanks in advance!

Pretty sure this is just how Opera mini is. Nothing you can do about it as far as I know. To me this is the only disadvantage Opera has to the BB browser, albeit a rather minor one.

BB Wishlist:
-Gmail BIS integration with an effective 2-way read/unread sync solution
-Better integrated alarm (on legacy devices)
-Threaded SMS

Yep, that about sums it up.

For the first time I feel the future might hold something different for me. It's possible I'm fooling myself but I'm willing to take the risk.

This is because Opera Mini is a Java application, not a native application written for your specific device. It turns over text editing to the jvm on your device, which in the BB's case is the text editor you see when enterting text. This is one of the reasons it will run on any phone that has a jvm.

Default Opera Mini Not in Landscape - 09-05-2009, 09:41 PM

I just upgraded to Opera Mini 4.2. It says if I hit * # that it goes to landscape view. That doesn't happen, and the option for Landscape view is NOT in the settings. Is this perhaps peculiar to the BB Pearl? Opera clearly states it can go to landscape.

Landscape is not supported on BlackBerry devices that don't have native support it.
