I spent a few days embedding the cover art into my mp3 files and was really happy until i transferred them to my phone and opened flipside. Apparently flipside does not read embedded cover art. (feel free to join me in requesting that feature at electricpocket.com/flipside/feedback.php)

so i needed to save the embedded cover art as jpgs that flipside would read. I did it in about about 4 minutes.

Here is the workaround:

using MP3tag (freeware)
open music folder > select all music > right click on a song > convert > actions

this brings up the actions dialog. some default action groups are listed but you want to create a new one. click the star icon > name the "action group" > (ex:art) > click ok.

Now you have an empty action group. Click the star again to add an action to it > export cover to file > ok.

Enter the format for the file names. For flipside that would be: %artist%_%album% > ok.

The dialog shows that your action has been added to action group > ok

Make sure your action group is checked and no others are > ok.

Now it will spit out the cover art into your music folder.

Viola!
