iheartradio has AM stations, but only Clear Channel stations. If it doesn't have the stations you want, check moodio.fm. You can add your station if it's not already on there and play it by bookmarking the site in your browser. No download needed, only to sign up on the site, choose your stations, and bookmark the page in your BB browser.

What about iheartradio as an option?

The OP should bear in mind that these radio stations are streamed over the web to your BlackBerry. I've been asked by TONS of folks if they can actually use their BBs as real radios. "Can't it get FM stations, like, the way a real radio does?" Incredible but true!

Default AM Radio suggestions

In addition to iheartradio, Nobex Radio Companion has a free app that lets one pick from many AM and FM stations around the USA. I like it for the talk programs I listen to during the day. As an aside, I also like Pandora that "constructs" stations - streaming music - based upon your likes and dislikes; on the 9630, the music is in stereo if you have stereo headphones. Sorry as a new forum user I can't post addresses directly; both are dot com: nobexrc and pandora. Dial the sites directly from the 9630's Web browser to download and install.

Nobex Radio Companion has a $3.99 monthly subscription fee, or more depending on where you get it, unless there is a totally free version I haven't seen.

Edit, nevermind, I see there is a free version. Is the download the same for both?

Daphine, it is one download regardless of the free or pay version. The free version limits the user to the USA. There are credit card and PayPal options that open the stream choices worldwide. With the freee version, if you try to connect to, say, a station in the Bahamas the "whoop" and audio message is the same as you hear on Live365 when you fail to connect to a station. Regardless, Nobex is an terrific app which I highly recommend. I do not have any affiliation or ownership in Nobex; I'm just a user.

Thanks, I might try it out. I was (wrongly) thinking it was subscription only.

Err, did you look at the previous posts in this thread and try the free version of Nobex Radio Companion? I like the daytime talk shows and use Nobex when away from a home or car radio.
