In the past, I had BBAlerts set up to vibrate and play a sound ONLY between 9am and 2am, which worked well. My schedule has changed and I now want to limit the alerts to between 9am and 10pm.

This should be easy, but for some reason, it doesn't work!

I have my Normal profile set to Vibrate and play a sound when I get a text message.

I've set BBAlerts so that both Weekday and Weekend Day are the same:

• Alert DURING Interval
• LED Always - Yes
• Start at 09:00
• End at 22:00
• Program queues alerts out of interval - Yes

When I receive a text message at 2245 hrs, my BB Curve 8900 vibrates, plays the SMS sound and blinks the LED Cyan (the color set up in the BBAlerts options). It shouldn't do this, it should be silent, just as it was when I had it set up to be silent between 2AM and 9AM!

Also, when I look at the BBAlerts Log, it says I've received a new voicemail message, instead of an SMS message!

Any ideas what's going on? How do I fix this?

A battery pull fixed the "New voicemail" instead of "New SMS message" log entry, but it still won't do the alerts ONLY during the scheduled times. Grrr.

I don't use BBA any more, but basically I first turned off the vibrate alert off for BBA, and then used profiles to match my BBA schedule. I used a profile scheduler (profiler) to change my profile from say, normal to quiet, and then within each profile, I set whether I wanted BBA to vibrate or not AND set BBA to not alert and match the times I set for the Quiet schedule.

While you may not want to purchase another app to handle profiles, that's up to you, of course but that's how I did it.

FWIW, I switched to a BerryBuzz/BerryPopup/SmartAlerts combo and set my own schedule and it all works perfectly. And I still use a profile switcher anyways...

I use Message Alerts and it does all of that and more. I don't have the change profiles. I am on call 24/7 and I have it set up that messages from two different sources will wake me up. All others stay silent during sleep time. I can actually setup the same for SMS messages and phone.

It is a very strong program, although a little pricey.

I too use Message Alerts and I have no problems setting the various times to provide whatever alerts I want. Sorry, I dropped BBAlerts almost a year ago.

Wow - it's a Message Alerts love-fest! I, too, use it happily.

I have my alerts scheduled, and several people have their own rules. I have a rule that if you press "5" to page me at the voice mail prompt, it sounds 24x7. I don't tell anyone but my best clients that, and they don't abuse it. (They also get billed a good bit more when they do!)

I really like the mute for x minutes - great for meetings; I always forget to change my profile.

Hey Jyunte, I solved the whole meeting thing by setting an alert from 8am - 5:30pm M-F (my work schedule) to vibrate repeatedly and LED only. That way I never have to remember to set it in the morning and reset it when I leave the office in the evening. It is automatic. There are some override alerts that I use to allow the phone to sound if there is a true emergency but I have only given that out to a few individuals.

I second this. I don't use BerryPopup b/c I found it too intrusive when I tried it. However, BerryBuzz + SmartAlerts gives me the functionality I need.

Set "LED Always - Yes" to "LED Always - No" this will stop the blinking outside of scheduled timeperiod.

Which version of BBAlerts are you using?
