Default Berry-a-code not working on 8900 - 11-04-2009, 08:17 PM

Strange, Berry-a-Code is not working on my BB 8900 but my brothers Sprint Curve working fine. It is supposed to list the city, state the # is calling from if they are not in your phonebook.

I went into Options and turned Enabled ON and then Display City in Call Log YES and both are not working.

Permissions in Advanced options are set to Allow. Any other thoughts?

Thanks,
Shane

The app was abandoned after someone (forget who) claimed patent infringement. Rather than fight the charge, the developer abandoned the project. If it works, you're lucky. If not (on the newer phones), you in the majority. At this point, it is what it is.

That makes sense, it works on some of the older phones. I just tried it on an old 8800 and it worked fine.

Thanks for the info.

Are there similar programs for new phones?

There is an app called CallerInfo, by Toysoft Development; but that is for the newest phones and OS's, can be seen here.

Toysoft Development Inc., CallerInfo Display caller name, birthday, anniversary and note

Not sure if any exist for the "almost-newest" models.
