When did you set your HTML option to "yes"?

What are or aren't you seeing in an email? In your message options>email settings, check 'Enable HTML Email' to NO, for that email address.

kathrynhr: i set it to yes when i first got the phone.

as far as what im seeing now....i see the email and it is just plain text...no images...no smiley faces...no special fonts etc...i had the 8330 before this phone and had all the same options for html etc and the emails came out perfect every time.
