Downloading now. From everything I've heard, this is a great update. Can't wait to get going with it.

Well... right off the bat, gas prices seem to be way, way off. I did a search for best premium grade gas prices for zip code 30043, and it gave me a lowest price of 2.49. Erm... no. Premium gas is not 2.49 as far as I can find. The more realistic price that I find is 2.89. Big difference.

Does anyone know where Poynt pulls the gas price data? I'd like to look into this a bit more to see what might be going on.

Here's another link we started on 1-1.
Poynt - Beta Update

Some people are already using .28

The version available from Poynt is 1.5.2.36, obviously newer than .28. I have sent a message to Poynt regarding the gas price discrepancies. Waiting to see what they have to say.

Otherwise, I like the new layout, and have otherwise always enjoyed the app.

Gas prices are spot on in my area (west Phoenix suburbs)... I was "out and about" yesterday and made note of a few gas prices and checked them against Poynt.

Hm... No reply from Poynt yet. I'll check prices on the way home to see what happens. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, but I honestly doubt I'll be getting premium at $2.49.

Fingers crossed...

Poynt is free everywhere. The price I am talking about is for gas... one of the new features of this version of Poynt.

The latest version (link in zerog's first post of thread) is for the non-beta version... 1.5.2.36 - free to all.

I checked prices this morning on my way in to work when I stopped for gas. The pump had Premium at 3.019, while Poynt showed the same station had Premium at 2.749. Not even close.

I just checked Poynt again and it still shows 2.749. That makes Poynt's gas prices worthless to me. They aren't accurate at all for my location.

Very disappointing. And they still haven't even acknowledged my e-mail support request.

The gas prices in my immediate area on Poynt are outdated. The prices they are showing were almost 2 weeks ago. Prices have gone up since then.

The temperature feature on the homescreen is a nice feature at least. Gas prices will be a work in process. That may be why this is a beta

Actually, I don't believe this version is considered BETA. This has been generally released by Poynt. I may be wrong though...

Poynt has official releases and newer beta releases. This is beta. I would like to see a weather forecast built into program

Man, that's too bad. I am confused about the discrepancy... and I checked again today at the two stations in my neighborhood... they were spot on yesterday... and the price at the pump had gone up 3 cents at one and 2 cents at the other, but Poynt does not reflect the changes.

I believe the BETA version was .28. This version is .36 which is available directly from the Poynt website and from AppWorld. The BETA was not available from the Poynt website, at least as a regular user was concerned, and was not available at all on AppWorld.

How is .36 still considered a BETA when it has been officially released on the Poynt website and is also available in AppWorld?
