Default SmrtGuard Update (v2.15) draining battery

Please Login to Remove!

Upgraded last night on a Tour 9630 running 5.0.0.548, and have experienced significant battery drain today. Can't say for sure it was the upgrade, but it's the only thing that changed since yesterday, and I otherwise had excellent battery life.

Anyone else upgrade to 2.15? Similar results?

I just installed SmrtGuard 2.15 last week on my Sprint Tour 5.0.0.591, and I have noticed a huge difference in battery life as well. I'm new to SmrtGuard, so I don't know if this happened with other versions, but this is definitely a dealbreaker for me. Did you happen to find a fix, or have you contacted the developers about it?

I did manage to improve battery life, and I did so by making sure that I was not signed into the "follow me" feature. I believe that is what was draining the battery (by constantly using GPS, I presume). By not activating the "follow me" feature, you STILL do get to see where the device is when you log into the Smrt Guard website, which is nice. I am now running 5.0.0.591 also, so give that (making sure you are not logged into "follow me") a shot, and you might see some improved battery life.
