I am using the free Sudoku program from Cellufun. You can find out more at Cellufun.com.

I ran across another Sudoku game for Blackberry by Quotronics at Clickgamer.

It is called "Blackberry Sudoku" and sells for $9.90. Has anyone tried it yet?

I just found a link to download a trial at RIM Road.

While it isn't free, I've got Sudoku from Magmic and it's under $5, which is darn near free. And they have a free 3 day trial. You can try it OTA at bb.magmic.com.

I'm not in any way affilliated with Magmic, I just really like their software.

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see the challenge of playing Sudoku on a handheld device. I have played it on a PPC device and all you have to do is keep clicking in the box 1 to 9 until you get the correct number. What's the point?

i second hotbox's magmic sudoku kudos.

it isn't free, but the price is very reasonable and their support is top notch. the interface is attractive, and there are different game board styles in addition to the standard black and white grid. the difficulty settings not only allow for "more" puzzles, but also makes it so you can have a "quick" game or solve one of the harder puzzles that you can revisit at leisure.

there's talk about it and other sudoku choices here.

On the Magmic version, you can turn off checking. It's kind of a cheat anyway. having it off makes it more of a challenge. The other thing is that Magmic offers daily puzzles that you download and with these daily puzzles, you CAN'T have checking on.

I finally settled on Mobile Sudoku by Icenta.

While it's not free ($8.99 at Handango,) It works very well, has an excellent interface, a very clean display, and does everything I want.

The point is to put a number in a box and to be able to prove to yourself that this is the number that belongs there and not to "guess" one.
