I just upgraded to Bold 9700 (T-Mobile v220.127.116.110) from an 8800.
Got excited about it and started looking for great apps, etc. Quicklaunch is mentioned alot.
This is a twofold Quicklaunch (QL) thread - first point to tell what happened to me and to learn if this is common & two, to learn if someone else has a solution to my QL issues so I can bring it into my 9700 successfully.
#1 - I downloaded it and then used it to set up 3 smaller contact folders for about 9 people I contact daily (1 for phone calls, 1 for emails, and 1 for SMS). The phone folder and the email folder pulled the contact info up just as I wanted. When I tested SMS contacts within the SMS folder I created, at least a few of them would not open up to allow a text. That led me to check if I could text contacts from the broader group - some I could and some I could not.
Ultimately I deleted QL, backed up the phone, did a security wipe, restored my backup, and without QL I could text everyone. But of course I didn't have the cool QL features and fulders I wanted.
I tried QL 2 more times - same experience each time so have given up. By the way, I discovered it had nothing to do with my folder - just by downloading QL and without setting up a separate SMS folder I still had SMS the same issue that with QL on the phone I could not text at least some of my contacts.
Now I visit this site and see people having various email or SMS issues, and knowing of QL's popularity wonder if people upgraded from an older model BB where QL may have worked - but when they brought their contacts in perhaps they brought QL in as well and its fouling up the systems.
#2 - Anyone have a similar experience and come up with a solution that allows you to use QL?
