Options >> Phone Options >> Voice Mail: Access Number and Password.

I do have Google Voice and Voicemail; I am still not sure if I am going to use my Voice number; so "pretend" that I just have Voicemail.

The voicemail for my Verizon Wireless phone is controlled by Google right now. So, on the "Voice Mail" screen, I have my verizon number still listed and the access number is my verizon password (which is the same as my google voice password).

However, using the voicemail settings set above to dial in to my voicemail with Google Voicemail now set up doesn't work.

Should I do *password rather than just password for the Password field?

Oh, I tried adding the * as this is the way to access Google Voicemail when calling your voicemail. However, the * doesn't seem to dial; I always have to enter it manually. I thought adding the * to the password would make it automatically dial like it automatically dials the password. I tried it alone, without the password to see if I could at least receive a prompt to enter my password when I dial voicemail, but it doesn't work.

I tried fiddling around with adding pause(s) before and after the *, etc. etc. until I discovered that if I call my Google Voice number, I'm able to access my voicemail from my mobile and I'm not prompted for my PIN/password.

To clarify, I have a Google Voice number that I'm not sure what I'm going to do with as well as Voicemail activated on the connected mobile phone. This means that all voicemail goes to the same Google Voice box, regardless of whether someone is using my Google Voice number or cell number since the account is the same for both.

I suppose I just add my Google Voice as my Voice Mail number on my Blackberry and don't include any password and this should get me what I want.
