I'm Olivier author of Wisespent.

I'm working on a PC version of Wisespent to ease the synchronization with various personal finance manager softwares.

I noticed that a significant fraction of my users have difficulties with the desktop manager for various reasons (they didn't install it, they don't use Ms Windows, etc.). They need OTA installation (we provide it).

So I was wondering about a new way of synchronization.

Bluetooth isn't widely supported by BB, few PC or laptop are Bluetooth ready. This is a dead end. So I thought why not email...

Each time you would press "send sync" on the desktop PC software or on Wisespent for BB, an email will be sent with the sync data.

If you press "check sync" on your BB, Wisespent will automatically look for Wisespent synchronization email in your Blackberry inbox.

You may even sync two mobile phones (I don't know if it could be useful for anyone, but technically it will be possible).

What do you think? Too cumbersome? Still prefer USB hot sync?

I like it. I like anything that saves me plugging into USB. Suggested enhancements:

- Allow Wisespent to be set to automatically search for an update when the app is launched

- Automatically delete the email when the update is complete

I would suggest a delta process, so you didn't send a message unless a change existed otherwise you could flood someones mailboxes, especially someone who checks email constantly. Secondly, maybe your produce could create a folder on both ends and rules so these emails never appeared in the inbox.

I am ok with a USB myself, I personally hate the few emails I get that have something to do with rim sending my BB updates.

I like the thought of email sync myself. But one question, can it sync with MS Money and vice versa? Or with just WiseSpent as a single program?

- the dedicated folder with a pre-built filter is a very nice idea. I will implement it.
- Automatic update is a must have. Synchro emails will be deleted.

I'm working hard on the PC version of Wisespent. Ms Money and Quickbooks are part of my to-do list. Sadly Quicken is completely closed, there is no documentation available so there are less chance that I will be able to support it.

Support for Ms Money and Quickbooks are part of the plan but I cannot guarantee you that it will a feature in the next version yet.
