Sounds interesting, if I ever give my kids a BB. I suspect they'll want an iphone though. I imagine it could also be used in a BIS office environment, too.

The privacy freak in me must ask: Does it clearly state its presence, or is it stealthy?

The app is stealth... there is not even an icon in the active apps list. This is meant to allow parents to help monitor the kids phone usage, though we're considering less stealthy options for office environments.

Interesting, indeed. Does it show up in the third-party application list? If so, how?

I can see this app has valid uses, but there is also a huge potential for misuse by jealous spouses, boyfriend/girsfriend, abusers, etc.

Also a law enforcement tool

We have a user that's been using the beta who printed out the logs and is using them in court in a harassment case.

The app is stealth, but it's always useful to let the child know they're being tracked for their protection.

I just downloading KS today but when I attempt to run the software, I get this message:


Error starting Kinderguardian: Class 'net.rim.blackberry.api.sms.SendListener' not found

Any ideas to what the problem might be?

On a guess, I'd say that you installed on an OS level lower than 4.6
