I have a 7130e and I am on a BES and the Blackberry Unlimited plan. My BES admin has opened mobile web for me and I have the Blackberry Browser on my device. I am able to connect and send messages with VeriChat but I get an error when trying to connect with BlackChat:
Description:
Cannot CONNECT to the IM server (Permission denied)
I read that MDS has to be enabled on the BES. Is this the same as mobile web?
Ok I got lucky when I had finally given up and was going to uninstall it.
At least on the 7130e, if you go to Options-->Advanced Options-->Applications
Click on Blackchat and then select "Edit Permissions" from the menu. Under Connections change "Carrier Internet" to allow.
After that it worked.
Now I have another question. With BlackChat do you always have to manually add all of your contacts on the BB? I have them on my desktop client but had to add them to the BB manually. However when I connected with VeriChat it already had my ICQ contacts there.
I have to say we must add all contacts manually in BlackChat. I use another free application "Jimm" (version: 0.4.1; Browse http://www.jimm.org/download with your BlackBerry to download). In Jimm, I don't have to add contacts manually to my 7290.
