Updated G-mail app?

Has anyone heard any work on Gmail ever updating from 2.0.6 and 2.0.7 versions of G-mail? I would live to see them release a new version of this. I know they have the enhanced gmail addon, but I like the app.

Yeah those versions have been out for over a year or two. I would use it if I could open attachments, which most it will not. They are updating alot of there other apps maybe this will come up soon on the horizon.
