Default Anyone know the dangers of unsigned apps & games? Please.

Please Login to Remove!

I've come to know that many unsigned apps and games are free (well that might be why they're free).
Yet they work perfectly. Does it harm my phone anyway? All opinions and suggestions are welcome, especially facts in relation to this subject...
Thanks, looking forward to your help.

An unsigned app cannot access the critical API's that allow the program to access your PIM data (contacts, calendar, etc), nor the API's that provide inter-app data transfer, like global events , emails, SMS etc.

My opinion, an unsigned app is probably not capable of getting into too much mischief - this was the main point of signing apps in the first place. The second reason to have the signature is so that RIM can track down the owner of the signature, if the app turns out to be malicious.

I would not lose any sleep over unsigned games.
