Question Simple CRM/Support Software

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know of any 3rd party software for the BlackBerry that allows you to define templates for standard email responses?

I use something for Thunderbird that lets me define email responses to frequently asked questions and customize the response for the recipient by using placeholders for things like the recipient name or email address. The software I use in Thunderbird is Quicktext (http://www.hesslow.se/quicktext/). It makes supporting Ramble _much_ easier and I want to be able to do something similar from my BlackBerry.

Does anyone know of anything like this for the BlackBerry? My quick search revealed nothing simple.

Interesting, but it isn't free, and it isn't clear if I can customize the responses. I'm thinking it will be easier to build this.

Thanks for looking!

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7100i/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/103)

Yes please! Someone come up with this. It would save so much time if there were a way to use templates in an email.

Default BB Responses....

Hello:
I have been using BB Response now for a month and LOVE IT. I am able to customize 10 responses and use on all emails. Go to the below link (OTA) and try it. When you click on the track wheel and go to reply, it comes up: BB Responses, pick one of the ten and it is sent....Sure saves me time (and accidents ) when I am driving....

Browse to this link on your BlackBerry:

I haven't tried this software but can't you just set 10 different responses with autotext? How is the software better?

I can't say it is better, but I have never really figured out AutoText and for me, this is much easier to set up and use....try it for 30 days free (which you are allowed to) and compare....

I actually thought about autotext before I wrote my own software (TextMob: http://wireless.sra.com/utils/). The problem in this case with autotext is that you can't ask AutoText to insert details from the email. If you simply wanted to paste in a set text, with no substitutions, you'd be fine.

What I was looking to do was to put email-specific information into the outbound message. For example, have a template that would substitute in the recipients name, so it is more personal.

I looked at BB Response, and as you can see above, I didn't go for it because it wasn't free for personal use. BB Response may very well be excellent software, it just wasn't ideal for me.

Yes Rambler, I agree with you on the Autotext issues, and it would be great to have something more personalized, as you mentioned, but for me, now, BB responses is working great. I will check out your link also.

Thanks!
John
