Default PocketDay v3.5 wonky?

Please Login to Remove!

so... I get the email from CrossRiverSystems today that version 3.5 is available... so I download OTA the new personal version... download and installation go well... reboot...

I go into PocketDay to see what's new... and see that there's a new Search field under my Weather field... cool... I go into settings... general... and switch the Search field and the Weather field so that the weather is last...

and then I get an Error message... "Uncaught Exception: adding to a manager that is already parented" or something like that... and everytime I try to click on PocketDay to open the application it simply flashes the hour glass for a second... transmits (arrows go crazy)... and then nothing... Pocketday won't open...

so I just redownloaded v3.5... just not sure if I should switch the positions of the Search and Weather again...

Anyone have this issue?

EDIT: After redownloading v3.5 I clicked on PocketDay to open the application... nothing... arrows go crazy... that's it. I just uninstalled Pocketday and will download v3.5 fresh again... :( I hate when things don't go the way they're supposed to.

EDIT2: I downloaded v3.5 fresh... (it didn't ask me to reboot this time...) and I STILL can't get into PocketDay. HELP!

Hanwei, did device reboot after reinstalling? If not, try deleting app, pulling battery, download OTA on startup, and reboot after install (pull battery if doesn't offer reboot automatically).

I just installed Professional BES w/Sports version. Works perfectly. Bugs in prior version gone. New search f(x) very nice; not as robust as Berry411, but so convenient.

Good luck,

JT

EDIT: After fiddling with search f(x), am very impressed. Retains prior searches and locations, and incorporates much of what Berry411 does. If you haven't tried app before, you should try this version. IMHO, well worth the $$$. Disclaimer: I have no afilliation with PocketDay. Am just providing my opinion.

After install, the LED stopped working. Manual reboot and now all seems well.

Installed it, and now I've got 2 PD icons, one is for 3.11 and one is for 3.5. Plus, when it automatically kicks in as the screensaver, it appears to be 3.11. In the apps menu, only 3.5 is listed, so unistalling 3.11 manually isn't an option.

Also, if I launch 3.5 from the 3.5 icon, I don't see the new Search function anywhere? I tried to add it too without any luck.

It rebooted after installing, but I got a DSC error. I'm trying a manual reboot now to see if that fixes it.

hanwei, Are you still having issues? If so, please email us at [email address] so we can get you up and running.

jubrand, odd with 2 icons. You didn't install the wap version and had the non-wap before did you? Anyway, deleting anyversion should clean up all. You can go to the Applications screen on the berry then select modules from the menu and delete them all individually. contact us at [email address] for quicker help.

I sent an email about it too. I can't uninstall 3.11. It's not in the applications list, but the icon is still there and it still runs. I also can't uninstall it from the desktop manager, b/c I installed over the air. I think that's somehow screwing up the new install.

Everything is working great now... just as long as you don't try and switch the position of the Search field... Mark is working on fixing that now though.

Thank you, Mark, for your help and responsiveness.

Great application and support to back it up.

The issue with moving the search field has been resolved. It was only in the Personal Version and we have posted a patch (version 3.51).

Thanks for your patience.

I didn't have an issue switching the position of the search field, but noticed there is no functionality to change the color from white. Any ideas?

There were some quirks with the colors on the search and we're waiting for some answers from rim before we allow the colors to be changed.

Really, I was hoping the search was more like 411 but did not find that to be so. I must be using it wrong. I can't change my search type from web so basically mines acts like a google interface. How did you get the dict, encyclo, rphone, movies etc... to work?

To change the search either press the space bar or press the alt key while the field is highlighted.

I'm using PocketDay v. 3.11 WAP version. Can I just install the new 3.5 WAP version over the air on top of 3.11 or do I need to uninstall 3.11 first? Thanks.

You can just install right over 3.11

Thanks for the update, Mark. Can you let us know the result of your discussions and the final solution?
