Have installed PD3.51 and am a longtime registered user.

Recently I had to change my BB since the previous one started to crash all over the place.

At that time I did a backup of the entire unit and then restored everything onto the new one.

Since that time stocks and weather have not worked although RSS feeds are just fine as are all other BB functions like web browsing and email.

So I talked to support at PD and we thought that just perhaps the new version installed on the new BB had left some old data from the previous version.

Enter Javaloader!!

So now I

1. Security¦wipe
2. Javaloader wipe
3. re-install OS and no restore of any sort
4. delete out previous PD and check that only 3.51 is installed.

The result is the same.

Weather reports java.IOException:could not open tunnel and stocks are just blank.

ISP is Vodafone UK and yes I have checked the entry, and in any case RSS works just fine.

Have reported to PD but in the hope this rings a bell have included here also.

Richard...make sure your firewall is disabled, then reset it, save and reboot.

Tried that and still the same.

Actually I did try this many times since it is standard PD support answer.

However it doesn't answer the question of why RSS should work but not Weather or Stocks.
