Question Synchronize Calendar without BES - 01-27-2006, 06:10 PM

All,

I am looking for a solution that would allow me to synchronize my calendar without using a BES server. Is anyone aware of such a service or solution?

Do you mean wireless calendar sync or simply syncing the calendar between the BB and Outlook (or whatever PIM you use)?

he means wireless synch!!!!

I have the exact same question. BB doesn't recognize an MS outlook meeting invite which was going to be my quick fix...

Bump to the top in hopes of an answer....

There is another way around the BES solution.....

http://www.funambol.com/

Open source synching client and server that works with the BB (Among other devices as well)

All depends how tech savvy you are or aspire to be

I installed funambol server at home this weekend, and I'm having trouble getting it going. I would say that it is not at a point where it is ready for the casual user by any means. Also, I think they removed calendar sync from the Blackberry client a couple of versions ago. The word is that it is because of some problem with the Blackberry API. Has that changed since the funambol release?

HaTaX - I looked up funambol... Do I need to have a synch server running on the email server for this to work? I understand the local client piece but not the server half...

thanks!
