Default Ramble IM TCP probs on 8700c - 01-28-2006, 07:06 PM

i just checked the FAQs on the SRA website and found out exactly what the problem was ("invalid connection string: could not open tunnel - failed." which meant my tcp needed to be configured properly.. when i went to the phone lists to see what i needed to do for my phone, and the 8700c wasnt on there..

what sort of TCP settings do i need to work with in order to make it connect. and i know it can log in over TCP.. i'm not messing with BES again.. a lil too expensive for a carrier user.

thanks!

I'm going to have to assume that Cingular Blue does the same as Orange and doesn't allow you to use the Blackberry APN with third party applications. You need access to the WAP APN to use them.

There are several threads on how to get it added to your account and whether or not you'll be charge for doing so. If you do a search for "wap.cingular" you should come up with then threads relating to this issue.
