Default Pocketday question - 01-29-2006, 11:48 PM

I am using the trial of this software and really like it. Does this program slow down your messages?

Can you rephrase the question? If you mean does it slow down your receipt of messages then I'd say 'no'.. I've never actually seen a BB user all that concerned about device settings / local software slowing down messages.

I guess it's possible that settings like using 3DES versus AES (BES) or turning on all encryption could slow down receipt of messages marginally but I doubt it's noticeable.

Anyway.. I've not experienced anything indicating Pocketday slows things down. -Pk

No negative affect on the functioning of the inherent BB OS capabilities. It simply acts as a front-end manager (messages, tasks, calendar, etc) while providing additional content to the user depending on version and add-on(s) (stocks, weather, world clocks, currency converter, sports scores, etc).

Truly a great application.

Now you can call me STORMin' Norman, except my name isn't Norman.

sedated,

To uninstall, go to the BB home screen then settings or options then applications. highlight PocketDay and delete using the menu. What didn't you like about the product.

It is not coming up under Options > Advanced Options > Applications...which is the only place I thought it might be. Is there anywhere else that it might be?

As far as to why I am uninstalling it, I think it is a great utility and has a lot of potential, but I think it needs a little more polish as far it looks and how the menus and sections are organized from a usability standpoint. I used to do consulting for usability and interfaces a long time ago so I am a little more of a picky person when it comes to that stuff. I could definitely provide input if you are interested.

We're always looking to improve the product and would welcome any suggestions you might have.

If it's not listed in the applications screen, try using the desktop manager to uninstall. Usually this means the BlackBerry doesn't realize it installed something. It happens sometimes. Usually installing again will cause the BlackBerry to recognize the app and alllow it to be removed.

As I mentioned, we would welcome your feedback. Please email us at [email address]

Thanks,

Mark

Thanks Mark. Reinstalling did the trick and I was able to remove it. I will reinstall it this weekend and put together a list of certain things I think you guys might be able to improve on and make it a easier product to use. It mostly lies in the way certain options are laid out and such.

Just another note to potential users...PocketDay is a great little utility with a lot of potential. Like I previously mentioned, I am a picky person so don't let that discourage you from trying the application out for yourself.
