Send all your buddies PIN messages and tell them not to show them to anyone else but to meet you somewhere, then see if the whole world shows up like they did in last night's episode.

I was wondering how long it would take a crackberry addict (and 24 addict) to start this post. But actually it was Mike who had the BB, not Jack. Jack looks like he has the boring old regular cellphone (looks like a Nextel phone).
I love shows that use technology but at least use an app that is real. That sort of looked like BB Messenger but had the text where a title would normally be. Then the second text ("tell no one") was just plain black text on white background, what's up with that?
While we are on the Jack Bauer thread, here's a little quiz...
1. In this season, Jack has a new watch (G-Shocks were used in previous seasons), who is the maker of it?
2. In season one, Jack confiscated a knife from "the businessman" in the back seat of the limo. This season (and in last night's show) he has the latest version of this knife, what knife is it?
3. Since season one, Jack has sported the same handgun. What is it?

I use the CTU ringtone from www.adamdaley.com/wap
It makes every call seem critical to national security.

As do I. Except for the fact that watching 24 with the surround sound speakers on made me think my phone kept ringing in the other room.

1. I saw a tissot. Can't recall if it was on Jack or not...
2. Damn... forget the name. German made? somewhere in east europe?
3. No clue. It doesn't thrill me. What does however is the one from Mr. and Mrs. Smith, the gun he took out of where the ship picture was in one of the hiding places in his house then screwed on the silencer. Whatever gun that is, it's bad@SS.

1. Not sure...
2. Not sure... but I think it's the Microtech Halo III (I was actually curious myself after that scene)
3. H&K USP Compact On Second thought... I think it's the H&K P2000.

Well, heck, if we're throwing out random-but-somewhat-on-topic 24 insights, how about this:
This season, when Jack was hiding in the airport and working with CTU to set up the strike on the terrorists, he was communicating via his Treo 650. After he was captured and ever since, he's been using a standard flip phone. This was the the one the head terrorist made him use to communicate with CTU. What? Did the terrorists steal his 650 and replace it for him? Did CTU not notice his number changed?

The 24 ringtone is the only ringtone worth having IMO. I've got it on my Cisco 7960 IP phone at work as well.

He upgraded, everyone here knows the Treo 650 is no good. Besides just cause you upgrade or change a phone does not mean he has to change the number, he can always port it you know.

And here's the answers.....
1. MTM SpecOps Watch - BlackHawk model with the ballistic watch band. you can check them out at http://www.specialopswatch.com/products.htm
2. Give Hanwei a prize as it is the Microtech Halo III. In the first season he took a Halo II away from the "businessman" in the back of the limo. This season he upgraded to the latest version of Halo, the Halo III. You can check out the knife at http://videoknife.com/otf-mt-halo3.html
3. His handgun is usually a Sig P229, but he does use H&K compacts and various other weapons thru the seasons...
Thanks for playing....

Sure, but it took me one week and two service reps to port my Sprint PCS number from my Palm i500 phone to my Cingular BB 7290. I doubt the terrorists had all the necessary forms and whatnot with them at the time.

so true.. but Jack isn't a spec-ops guy. He just uses a watch that is the spec ops model. It's actually by a company called MTM Watches. Very cool watches, but very pricy. Their top of the line watch is $1600 and is waterproof to nearly 40k feet below sea level. Again, very stupid because nobody is going that deep but it's a great marketing tool.

Jack has not used any Sig this season, if he has I didn't notice. . . and I make it a point to notice. The only think I like more than tech gadgets is firearms. . .
He almost always uses an HK USP Compact, not a Sig. I own one of each, and I can testify that Jack is an HK man. . . see tonite's episode for proof.
The rest of CTU usually uses Glock handguns.

And guys, who's ordered the MTM watch already? I'm tempted
I love the way technology plays such a big part of 24, and I was happy to see the BB product placement!

Jack Bauer betrayed us and used a Treo in the airport to take photos of the bad guys and sent them to CTU.
DAMNIT!
(But we all know no one from CTU actually USES a Treo... security much?)

For the firearms, I am more of a fan of the Glock myself. I have a couple sigs but usually I turn to my glock, more over, I love my Glock 27, with the DeSantis, Tuck This, holster, now talk about a hidden combo.

I always thought that the fact that he uses both the Treo AND a phone was not exactly a great endorsmant of the Treo's functionality.

Jack Bauer's BB Apps -
04-06-2006, 02:24 PM
I haven't seen ACTUAL proof of this, but he MUST be using an LA freeeway traffic webcam program. He is the only one I know who can get from one side of LA to any OTHER part of LA within the course of a one-hour (in real time) TV show! I have lived in LA all my life and know that THAT is too Hollywood!
Love the show, love my BB 7105t... and, I love my wife!

Traffic clears for Jack Bauer. Hahaha I'm awful at Jack Bauer jokes. They have a whole site of them; alot are old Chuck Norris ones recycled, but still great nonetheless.

I'm a big 24 fan, trying to download the ctu ring- having no luck getting in working on my 8700. I save to desktop and then try and open through my application loader. "there is an xml syntax error on line 1" is the message I receive. Any pointers?
Cheers.

Use your browser. That's what I did when I wanted to add the CTU ringtone and other tones to my BlackBerry.
