Hey I just wanted to invite everyone to give our free app, Mobileplay a try. It's free, it's an easy download.. and you are probably asking why this and not a regular old RSS reader.

Simple, we have relationships with our Content Partners: Gizmodo, USA Today, Gawker, The Sporting News, Defamer, Flavorpill, PDA Today, Foders, Thought Network that allows us to deliver full stories to your device using a desktop sync, hotspot sync, or wireless sync. Now you have a device full of content, and not just HTTP headline links where you have to use valuable and costly "data minutes".

A quick sync at the airport hot spot or the local coffee shop and you literally have a couple days worth of content to read.

Not only do we have the capability to push "written content", but applications and games. We will soon be offering even more premium subscription content in the near future..

So give it a download.. post here what you think.. we would love to hear your thoughts, comments, and suggestions..

Thank you!!

John Drefahl

Default 8700g

I downloaded it OTA by going through the BB home page. Everything downloaded and updated fine, but when I go to click on a icon I get these messages:

Uncaught exception: net.rim.device.api.system.ControlledAccessExceptio n

or

Uncaught exception:java.lang.Error

Nothing will open. Also, you might want to give letter headings under the icons that are on the main screen, because I don't know what the heck each icon does and it's kind of a pain to click on each one until you find the feed you want.

I noticed this popped up on the mobile.blackberry.com website so I thought I would give it a try as well...

I got the same errors - also noticed that I wasn't able to uninstall it. Re-installing seemed to take care of all those problems though.

My impressions: The install didn't work properly the first time around, too many advertisements, too slow, bad layout overall (some areas have the 'home' icon on the left, some on the right), I still don't know what half the icons are supposed to do, and it really doesn't seem to have much to offer most Canadians. As a side note, it always bugs me when these apps (or web pages) ask you to 'choose your country' and then only allow for a zip code later on. I live in the Canadian capital by the way, which means politicians, which in turn means it's blackberry central - but the closest I could get to Ottawa weather was Toronto, in fahrenheit.

Anyways, uninstalled it - and not likely to bother with it again.

After playing with it a bunch and not getting a damn thing to work, I too decided to go ahead an delete it. There were a bunch of ads too now that you mention it.... Oh well, on a lighter note, I just downloaded Newsclip and it's pretty flippin nice, and a lot better and user friendly than this.

I downloaded this, did the deinstall/reinstall/reboot process twice, got the same error messages described in previous posts. Looks like a neat tool, but I'm deleting it until it's a little less buggy.

I got the same error message(s) too, even after numerous attempts at reinstalling/resynching.

I deleted it. Not worth the headache.
