$45 for an Instant Messaging application? Surely this is for more than one license?

What are the parameters of the trial? Is it timed usage? X amount of days? Nag screen only?

The app seems nice, but there's no way I'm paying almost $50 for an IM app for my BB.

It will run for 2 weeks no hassel. If your to cheap to spend the $45 then use another free and less feature rich solution... Good luck finding a free app that will allow you to connect AIM/MSN/ICQ/Yahoo/Google all through one interface.

well, i really only care about AIM (googletalk would be a bonus). I'm using RambleIM at the moment, but being able to send my traffic through the blackberry.net APN versus using wap.cingular (and x'ing my fingers that I don't get nailed with usage charges) isn't really ideal. I just thought maybe the $45 was for like a 3-5 user license for BES admins to buy for their users.

are there any other IM apps that can tunnel via the blackberry.net APN? I'm assuming Ramble can't... if so I haven't seen an option to point it to a specific IP:port.

As far as communications go this is one of the most important tools for my company. We all use Yahoo to communicate from office to office. Being the system admin and wearing many other hats, the $45 seemed pretty cheap for me. This damn thing allows me to pick up and leave the office anytime I want...

Speaking of that I am moving away from the company and keeping my job. Moving all the way to Jamaica...They can IM me from the office and I can take care of most anything from the BB...If I cant manage the task from the BB I head back to my office about 15 min away from the beach i'm hanging out on and take care of it...Probably one of the best $45 I've spent....

Best thing to do is download the app and do the trial. If you don't use it that much then just e-mail.

I am reviewing IM+, Verichat and Webmessenger right now for my tips site. I think they are all pretty good. Note the latter two are subscription so its even more. These apps have to have servers to connect you to the IM networks. So the price seems pretty darn good to me.

I have IM+ on my Cell phones, well worth the money. On my blackberry, I have verichat. The reason I picked the Verichat over IM+ on the blackberry is the Info bots. Also, its a great way to keep track of the kids, and so far they still dont mind IMing with me.

I bought IM+ 8 months ago when I was new to the BB world and didn't realize there were free trail periods on most software. I never got it to work, so I gave away the license about 2 months ago. I now use Yak-On which I love and it works great with AIM, it is a $20 one time fee. There are a few more of them out there, Ramble is free, never tried it, Verichat is a annual subscription. I would guess you should get what you pay for, in my case I never did with IM+, but I learned something from the experience.

I was using IM+ trial and I liked it. The trial expired and went to buy and saw that there is a new version which I downloded and loaded. Once I set the setting I got this Error message text: Uncaught Exception: Java.lang.classCastException.

I have been in contact with IM+ support who told me to use the regular version (which requires cingular wap) and i am insisting on the the wap version that uses the BB.net. have done unistall and hard reset and so on and this message keeps on comming up. I also tried to go into the app after the messaage and the screen freezes and can not exit from it without shuting the BB down. I am using the 8700c. Any one that can help it would be greatly appreciated.

I installed the trial version today but when I went to run it it told me the trial version had expired. I've never installed the product before.

Did you get your BB brand new? not secondhand or refurbished?

If I remember it right, I once asked if I can give my application
to a friend of mine and was told that I can't co'z it is registered to
my BB which has its own unique identifier when I registered it.

But I know I could by just pretending that I need to re-register and
needed a new registration key co'z I changed unit.

So if someone has downloaded once at one time, that could have started
the trial period, right?

Like I said, IM+ has never been installed on this device before today.

I got a reply from their support today that they had sent the info to the developers. I can tell you that they are quick in their rsponse but unfortunatly every thing they told me to do was already explored by me. I would say contact them. I also think their is something with the new version. I remember that there was (one or 2 can't remember that) no check on the common install files but the new one is check marking both. Like dummy I over wrote the older version so I could not test it any more to see if it is the new version issue or else.

You need an earlier version. I think the latest is 3.2.1 or something and it's got an 8700 issue. They are working on it.

Where can I download previous versions?

Thanks Stinsonddog. I wish I could download the old again and use it in the mean time untill they fix the issue with the new one unless they come out with a fix very soon.

has any download im+ to a blackberry 7250

Well they sent me the 3.1.1 version and I installed and it gave the same error. I just hope that I do not have to wipe the 8700 and start from scrach.
