Alright, there are a few settings you need to enter before you can get IM+ up and running. I've got a standard contract with Vodafone and got this working on my 8700v.
Well the settings should be similar on your model so give it a try...
On you BB go to Settings > Advanced Options > TCP
Enter the APN settings:

Once you entered the correct info, turn off your Blackberry and remove the battery, replace again and then startup.
Settings I used within IM+ are:
Connection type: TCP/IP
Advanced Settings: Direct TCP / Nextel Support
Port: 443
Use SSL: Yes
