That link should be opened with the BlackBerry Browser. Do you mean you only see the JAD information when you did that?
That link does work, but as far as I know, some service providers (e.g. Rogers in Canada) intentionally disable OTA for BlackBerry. Others may have specific restrictions on the size of the files. Please check with your service provider to make sure they do not have restrictions on OTA.

Unfortunately, my service provider *is* Rogers so I cannot verify OTA with my BlackBerry :( I have users that have no problems with it but some have reported problems. This has been very puzzling indeed ...
If OTA does not work for you, please download the software package and use the Application Loader to install Minuet.

Works fine for me. I'm with T-Mo UK.

I can download it OK (T-Mo UK), but it won't connect to any websites.
It sits there for ages saying connecting, and will sometimes fail with an uncaught exception.
The APN is all set up correctly, and works ok with other apps.

Hi Paul,
The suggested APN setting in Minuet is for T-Mobile USA. For T-Mobile UK, please try "general.t-mobile.co.uk" instead. It should have been more clear in the built-in help screen (sorry for the oversight.)
Still, these settings do change without notice. So please check with your service provide to make sure they are up-to-date.
Thanks,
TriPrince.

Thanks - it turned out to be a config issue (the APN was correct, but the handheld still had remnants of an old enterprise activation which was blocking data access).
The next problem, and it's a showstopper for me, is that Minuet doesn't seem to work with password protected websites. I'm talking about sites that use browser based security. i.e. the site issues a 401 status code and the browser then asks (via its own user interface) for a username and password, not sites which use forms for requesting usernames and passwords.

OK, next problem I would guess that the site replies on Javascripts for the login function? (Minuet currently does not support Javascripts.) However, I would have to take a look at the site to see for sure. Could you send me the URL?
Thanks,
TriPrince.

When I tried the OTA @ www.triprince.com/minuetbb.jad I too got the file list instead of the download option when using the Inet browser. I used the TMO WAP browser and was able to download the file onto my 7105t.
Thanks

The download was fine, but I can not enter an URL when selecting Open... from the menu. Even using the menu entry "Edit" does not help. Do you have any idea why this is not working?

It appears your keyboard type is not set properly. Please go to Preferences > General and check the Keyboard Type setting. If you have a device with a full keyboard (a.k.a QWERTY keyboard), you should select the QWERTY keyboard. If you have one of the newer devices that have less number of keys (also called SureType), such as the 71xx, you should select the SureType setting. Which device do you have?
If neither works for you, you can select the third (default) setting. This setting will work on all the devices but not as conveniently. With this setting, you will need to press the RETURN key to go into text input mode to enter something into a field.
Thanks for trying Minuet!

One more thing ... you can "press-and-hold" a key to cycle through all the input choices (i.e. capitals, symbols, etc.)

No - just a standard browser login using a 401 status code.
I can't give you the URL, I'm afraid, because it's a system owned by one of my clients.
Oh, hang on - I can put a password protected page on my own site.
Try http://www.ockenden.com/test/

Yes, that username/password box is a JavaScripts object. Minuet can handle plain HTML log-in forms without JavaScripts.

No it isn't. It has nothing to do with JavaScript. Try it with JavaScript switched off if you want to prove it.
It's part of the HTML Spec. If the server responds with a 401 status code the browser is supposed to prompt for a username and password, and try logging in again.

Gotta say though, apart from the authentication thing (which I understand is close to being fixed), Minuet is an awsome browser. It beats the pants off Mini Opera, especially because it does "BlackBerry" type things properly. It makes it so much more intuitive to control and navigate.

I can load the Minuet demo via Desktop Manager and launch the app successfully. Performance is excessively slow on my Verizon BB7250, however. Perhaps this is due to the continuous demo message crawl and frequent activation pop-ups. I cannot evaluate this program as it is.
